For all the folks in between. Between where? Oh, here and there. Anywhere really. This is just a place for my rambles on those people I see in everyday life. Real life people, not to be made fun of, but to be observed really, to be noted because of their colorfulness. Strangers for some, people I know for others. No names will be given other then titles, and in some cases a doodle or sketch might show up along with it.

It’s just for fun, and for inspiration at later times, for when I might need an idea for a character to use in a story or a drawing. Nothing more nothing less.

Add this journal if you feel the desire to follow along, comment if you wish too. Discuess or giggle or sympathize. Anything is fine.

For some reason, she was the one that started all of this, or well, I hope there will be ‘all of this’ to continue with. The cardigan vest, green polyester pants and a pair of tan and green bowling shoes, shiny but scuffed. It’s St. Patrick’s Day today, so the green in abundance is understandable, but the attire didn’t seem to change from everyday appearances.

This woman works where I work, or at least near by. A different building and department, so I really don’t know her, her name or anything about her, but she smiles friendly and always says “Good evening” in a really old style but rich way before she leaves.

She’s very grandmotherly with white here that is only spotted here and there with streaks of gray. She’s very tiny though no more then 5 foot 4 I would say (which is tiny to me, seeing as I am, well… much taller). Thin and weathered, like she spent too many days out in the sun as a child and only in the past decade learned to protect her skin, all just a little too late. She’s very alert though you can see it in her eyes; eyes that smile along with her lips.

It’s all of that, and the polyester pants that went out of style a few decades ago, as well as the massive number of cardigan vest’s she must own that got my attention. Every day a different matched set. Dark purple polyester pants with a slight flair around the feet, matched with a lighter purple or lavender sleeveless cardigan, always over a turtle neck of white, gray or black it seems (unless it’s a matching color to the day’s color). I’m still trying to see if there is some anal-retentive Color day chart. Purple Mondays and Green Fridays or something. I’ll have to keep tabs on that now.

Either way, she’s a colorful older woman with a bright smile.
